Terms of use

Otterow is made by Kacper Kępiński, a private individual in Poland, trading as Kindraft (kindraft.studio). Contact us at hello@otterow.com.

Otterow offers these services:

• The app. It is free. Rowing, workouts, coaching, the logbook, export and backup all work offline, without an account.
• Account services. Signing in, sharing a row as a web page, rowing together in rooms and, once it is on sale, Otterow Pro.
• The website at otterow.com, including the pages of shared rows, shared workouts and room invitations.

• Android 8.0 or later, or iOS 16.1 or later.
• For live readings, Bluetooth and a rower that supports the Concept2 PM5 protocol or the Bluetooth FTMS rowing standard. The app also includes a simulated rower, so you can try it out without one.
• An internet connection is needed only for account services.

We do not guarantee that Otterow works with any particular rower.

• The agreement for the app starts when you install and use it, and ends when you remove it.
• The agreement for account services starts when you create an account and ends when you delete it. You can do that at any time in the app.
• We may suspend or delete an account used to break these terms or the law. We tell you why first, unless the law forbids it.

Otterow is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. Suggestions and coaching are general. You row at your own judgement. Before you start hard training, or if you feel unwell, see a doctor.

You must not put unlawful content into names, room names, notes or shared pages. You must not use Otterow to harass or deceive anyone, or try to break or overload the service.

A shared row page or room shows what the privacy policy describes to anyone with the link or code. You decide what to share, and you can take a shared page down at any time. The content stays yours. You allow us to store and show it only for that purpose.

hello@otterow.com is our single point of contact for users and authorities. You can write in Polish or English.

Anyone can report a shared page or room name they believe is unlawful. Send the link or room code and the reason. We look at reports promptly and remove content that is unlawful or breaks these terms. We tell the person who posted it what we did and why. They can write back to object.

Otterow Pro is not on sale yet. When it is:

• It is a monthly or yearly subscription. Today it pays for one thing only: hosting a room. Joining a room stays free, and so does everything else.
• The price is shown in the app, in your currency, before you buy.
• You buy it through Google Play or the App Store. Their terms and refund rules apply.
• It renews automatically until you cancel it in that store, which you can do at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period.
• There is a free trial only if the store offers one.
• If you are an EU consumer, you have the statutory rights of the country you live in. The store handles withdrawals and refunds.

We (Kindraft) own the app’s name, artwork, voices and code. We license you to use the app for personal use.

We provide the app and services with care, but we do not guarantee that they will be available without interruption. Readings come from your rower and may be inaccurate.

Our liability is limited to the extent the law allows. Nothing limits our liability for intent or personal injury, or the rights you have as a consumer under the law.

Send a complaint to hello@otterow.com by email, describing the problem. We reply within 14 days.

If you are a consumer in Poland, you can also turn to the municipal or district consumer ombudsman (rzecznik konsumentów) or to the Trade Inspection (Inspekcja Handlowa).

Polish law governs these terms. This does not take away the protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.

These terms are available in English, Polish and German. If they differ, the Polish version decides.

We announce changes in the app or on this page at least 14 days before they take effect, unless the law requires a sooner change. If you do not accept a change, you can delete your account.
